He m. 16 July 1849, at Si James's, Westm., Mary Charlotte (Kitzalan-IIoward), 1st da. of Henry Charles (Howard), 13th Duke ok Norfolk, by Charlotte Sophia, da. of Charles Granville (Leveson-Gower), 1st DUKE of SUTHERLAND, He d. 20 Nov. 1869, at the Hotel Bristol, Paris, aged 60. Personalty sworn under £250,000. His widow, who was b. 13 Dec. 1822, living 1890. VII. 1SC9. 5. Sir Jacob Bouverie, Bart., of Longford, "Wilts, 2d I 1747 s ' °^ ^'"' am Ees Bouverie, 1st Bart, (a Turkey merchant in London) by his second wife, Anne, da. and h. of David Urry, of Loudon, was b. before 1703 ; was sometime a merchant in London ; site, to the Baronetcy and the family estates on the death of his eldest br. 21 Nov. 1736 ; took the name of Bouverie in lieu of that of Des Bouvirie by act of Pari. 22 April 1737 j was M.P. for Salisbury, 1741-17, and Recorder thereof, 1744. He was, on 29 June 1747, cr. LORD LONGFORD, BARON OF LONGFORD, co. Wilts, and VISCOUNT FOLKESTONE/,') of Folkestone, co. Kent He ro. firstly 31 Jan. 1733, Mary, da. and h. of Bartholomew Clarke, of Delapre Abbey and Hardingstone, co. Northampton, by Mary, sister and h. of Hitch Young, of Roehampton, Surrey. She d. 16 Nov. 1739, and was bur. at Britford, Wilts. He m. secondly 21 April 1741, Elizabeth, 1st da. of Robert (Marsham), 1st Baron Romnet, by Elizabeth, da. and coheir of Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovel. He d. 17 Feb. 1701, and was bur. at Britford. Will pr. 1761. His widow d. 25 Sep. 1782, at South Warnborough, Hants. Admon. Nov. 1782. (a) See vol i, p. John de Camoys, whose coheirs will be found under the Barony of Camoys. («) The Countess of Yarmouth (the King'B Mistress) who " is stated to have derived considerable sums from the sale of Peerages " is said to have received from Sir Jacob " the magnificent bribe of £12,000, tho price of a coronet [a Viscountcy not a mere Barony] which she obtained for him."
