Alathea, Dow. Countess of Arundel, 3d da. and coheir, became by the death of her last surv. sister in Dec. 1651, sole heir to her father, and, as such, &vo jure Baroness Furnivall, Strange de Blackmere and Talbot. She m. Sep. 1606, Thomas (Howard), Earl of Arundel, who d. at Padua, 4 Oct. 1646, aged 61. She d. at Amsterdam, 24 May 1654 and was bur. at Rotheram, co. York. ( a ) If it can be supposed that a new Barony {lalbol de Hallumshirc) was created by this writ of 1413 such Barony would follow the course of the Baronies of Furnivall, Strange de Blackmere and Talbot. P>) These were(l) Mary, who m. 4 Nov, 1604, William (Herbert), 3d Earl of Pem- broke, who d. s.p., 10 April 1630, aged 50. She, who was living 1621, appears to have died in his lifetime ; (2) Elizabeth, who m. before Sep. 1602, Henry (Grey), 7th Earl of Kent, and d. s.p., as his widow, Dec. 1651. (3) Alathea Dow. Countess of Arundel, who in 1651, inherited her father's Baronies as his sole heir.
