Sir George Hamilton Seymour, G.C.B., by Gertrude, da. of Henry Otway (Brand), Lord Dacre. He d. 1 Aug. 1887, at Vale Royal, and was bur. at Whitegate. Ill being directed "MUM Dc La, Pole, admirallo rcois/otce naiu'um. versus partes Borcalcs." On 6 Aug. 1385 he was cr. EARL OF SUFFOLK. See fuller particulars under that title. II. 1397, 2. Michael (De La Pole), Earl of Suffolk, Lord de to La Pole, s. and h., restored to his father's dignities in the Pari, of 1399. (1397) 21 Ric. II, but the proceedings of this Pari, being annulled by the Pari, of (1399) 1 Hen. IV, and those of the Pari, of 1388 being affirmed, this Barony fell again under the former attainder of 1388. The Earldom of Suffolk was conferred on the said Michael and the heirs male of his body by patent of 15 Nov. 1399, but this Barony was not therein mentioned (4th Peerage Report, p. 6). He d. 11 Sep. 1415. Both forms, however, are said to be wrong (in the " Her. and Gen."
