the Croſs and ignominy of the people of God to the but vain hopes, of an Arch-epiſcopall Glory, in a great rage did upbraide them with their importunity, and at laſt intreated them to let him alone, and begin the ſeparation without him, and promiſed them that he would ſo prevail with the King (who was George Podebrade, and to enjoy the Crown, did ſwear obedience unto the Pope) to allow them a place where they might live ſecurely, and ſerve God with an undefiled conſcience.

He obtained for them the Territory of Liticitz on of the hilly countries neere unto Sileſia, whither immediately after thoſe citizens of Prague, Batchelors and Maſters did addreſs themſelves, and from other places not a few as well Plebeians as Nobles, learned and uplearned, their greateſt confluence was to a Towne called Kunwald, devoting themſelves altogether to the reading of the Scripture, to prayers, and to workes of piety. This was in the year 1459. They choſe them teachers, that is to ſay, from the Calixtines, who uſed the cup in the Sacrament, who throwing off ſuperſtition did compoſe themſelves to the form of the primitive ſimplicity, the chief of them was a devout & pious old man, by name Michael Zamburgh. All of them by the name comon to Chriſtians and acceptable to good men, did call themſelves brothers and ſiſters, which was the reaſon that by a remarkable diſtinction the Title of the Bo-
