CHAP. XLV.

Joseph manifesteth himself to his brethren. Who being much terrified he comforteth them, and weeping embraceth everie one. 16. The bruit wherof comming to Pharao, he congratulating commandeth Joseph to cal his father with al his familie into Ægypt. 21. So the eleven brothers are sent away with guifts & provision for Jacobs journey. 26. At which the father understanding is revived in spirit.

JOSEPH could no longer refrayne manie standing by in presence: wherupon he commanded that al should goe forth, and no stranger should be present at their acknowledging one of another. 2And he lifted up his voice with weeping, which the Ægyptians heard, and al the house of Pharao. 3And he said to his Brethren: I am Joseph; is my father yet living? His brethren could not answer him being terribly astonished out of measure. 4To whom gently he said: Come hither to me. And when they were come neer him, I am, quoth he, Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Ægypt. 5Be not affraid , neither let it seeme to you a hard case that you did sel me into their countries: for [1] God sent me before you into Ægypt

for your preservation. 6For it is two yeares since the famine began to be upon the earth, and yet five yeares remaine, wherin there can be neither earing not reaping. 7And God sent me before, that you may be preserved upon the earth, and may have victuals to live. 8Not by your counsail, but by the wil of God was I sent hither: who hath made me as it were a father to Pharao, and Lord of his whole house, and Prince in al the land of Ægypt. 9Make hast and get ye up to my father; and you shal say to him: Thy sonne Joseph willeth thus: God hath made me Lord of the whole land of Ægypt: come downe to me, tary not. 10And thou shalt dwel in the land of Gessen: and thou shalt be neer me thou and thy sonnes, and thy sonnes children, thy sheep, and thy heards, and al things that thou dost possesse. 11And there I will feed thee (for yet there are five yeares of famine remayning) lest both thou perish, and thy house, and al things that thou dost possesse. 12Behold, your eyes, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin doe see, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you. 13Report to my father my whole glorie & al things that you have seen in Ægypt: make hast, and bring him to me. 14And falling upon the neck of his brother Benjamin, embracing him he wept: he also in like manner weeping upon his neck. 15And Joseph kissed al his brethren, and wept upon everie one: after which things they were
