ACT anent the way andmaner of Election of the Lords of the Articles. HE WHICH DAY, The Earle of Rothes, His Majefties Com- miflioner, reprefented to the Eftates of Parliament , That it was His Majefties exprefs pleafure , Thatintheconftitution of Parliaments , and choifingofLordsofthe Articles at this Seflion and in all time coming, the fame form and order mould be keept, which had been ufed befoi^ thefe late troubles, efpecially in the Parliament holden in the year One thoufand, fix hundred, and thirty three. And the manner of election of the Lords of Articles at that time being now Ceen , and confidered , be the Eftates of Parliament ; They did with all humble duty acquiefcein his Majeftie's gracious pleafure , thus fignifyed unto them. And in profe- cution thereof , TheCleygy retired to the Exchequer chamber, and the Nobility to the Inner houfe of the Seflion, (the Barons and Burgefles keep- ing their places in the Parliament houfe) The Clergy made choice of eight Noble men to be on the Articles, viz. The Duke of Hamilton, TheMarquefsei CMontrofe , The Ear les of £rr<?/, Mar, Eglingtoun, Hadington, Qallendar, and Annandaile ; And the Nobility made L choice
