Another edition of part of the papyrus with a German translation appeared in F. J. Lauth, Moses der Ebräer, Munich, 1868; more recently this part of the papyrus was reedited in W. Spiegelberg, "Das Geschäftsjournal eines āgyptischen Beamten," Recueil de Travaux relatifs à la Philologie et à l'Archéologic Égyptiennes et Assyriennes, vol. 17, 1895, pp. 143-160. A transcription and translation of the recto is given in A. H. Gardiner, "Hymns to Amon from a Leyden Papyrus," Zeitschnft für Äigyptische Sprache . . ., vol. 42, 1906, pp. 12-42; (although every page of this article is dated 1905 it was not published till "22 März 1906.")

This papyrus is reproduced on plates 14-55; there are some introductory notes, pages 6-8. The papyrus was found at Thebes in 1860. I t is a sort of book containing the accounts of various supplies and payments for the house of an unknown queen and of some other members of the royal family. Attention was first drawn to this papyrus in Rougé (1868). L. Borchardt was the first to interpret the contents of the papyrus in some details in his "Ein Rechnungsbuch des königlichen Hofes aus dem Ende des mittleren Reiches," Zeitschrift für Ägyptische Sprache . . ., vol. 28, 1890, pp. 65-103. These details were supplemented by F. L. Griffith, "The account papyrus no. 18 of Boulaq," Zeitschrift für Ägyptische Sprache . . .,vol. 29, 1891, pp. 102-116. The most recent discussion is the dissertation of A. Scharfi (1920) of which an extract was published as "Ein Rechnungsbuch des k6niglichen Hofes aus der 13. Dynastie (Papyrus Boulaq Nr. 18)," Zeitschrift für Ägyptische Sprache . . ., vol. 57, 1922, pp. 51-68, and plates 1**-24** which contain a hieroglyphic transcription of the papyrus made from a new copy of the original by Gardiner.
