INTRODUCTION

Woman Socialist” may be understood to mean one or both of two things. It may have reference to the woman who believes in Socialist principles whether in a position to apply these or not; or it may mean the woman who lives in a Socialist State, where the principle has been fully applied.

The first of these two is alive now, eagerly seeking to propagate her principles, rejoicing over every fresh triumph of her faith, and looking forward to the day of her complete emancipation and the emancipation of her fellows with a hope and confidence, touching in its simplicity, and as inspiring as that faith which is said to remove mountains. The second is the promise of the future; and society has no brighter hope, humanity no larger promise than her coming, radiant with health and happiness, love and liberty shining from her eyes, the beautiful, high-souled, sister-mother of the men that are going to be.
