side for at least eight hours during the period from 7 am to 7 pm. on at least four days other than a Sunday in any week and at some other times other than those during the period from 7 a.m. to 7 pm.

(3) Subject to sub—paragraph (5) of this paragraph the road marking shown in diagram 1016.1 may be placed on the side of a road only for the purpose of indicating a statutory prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles which does not fall to be indicated by the said markings mentioned in sub—paragraphs (1) and (2) of this paragraph.

(4) In sub-paragraphs (1) and (2) of this paragraph the references to a statutory prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles shall be construed as excluding references to any such prohibition or restriction as aforesaid imposed—

(a) on waiting for the purpose or loading or unloading a vehicle,

(b) so as expressly to limit the duration of waiting of vehicles within a particular period,

(c) on waiting where the provisions of such prohibition or restriction exempt the waiting of a vehicle in respect of which a certificate of such exemption has been granted to the owner thereof as being one of a class of persons who qualify for the grant of such a certificate solely on the ground that they are all persons whose usual place of abode is at premises situated beside a road specified in relation to the prohibition or restriction, or

(d) on waiting of a goods vehicle (as defined by section 195(1) of the Road Traffic Act, 1972[1]) but of no other vehicle.

(5) In sub-paragraph(3) of this paragraph the reference to a statutory prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles shall be construed as excluding references to any such prohibition or restriction imposed on waiting such as is described in sub paragraph 4(a),(c) or (d) of this paragraph.

27.(1) The road marking shown in diagram 1020 may be placed on a side or a road only for the purpose or indicating a statutory prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles for the purpose of their being loaded or unloaded but not for indicating a statutory prohibition or restriction which expressly limits the duration of waiting by vehicles within a particular period for the purpose or their being loaded or unloaded) which applies on that side for at least eight hours during the period from 7 a.m. to 7 p m. on at least four days other than a Sunday in any week.

(2) The road marking shown in diagram 1021 may be placed on a side of a road only for the purpose of indicating a statutory prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles for the purpose of their being loaded or unloaded (but not for indicating a statutory prohibition or restriction which expressly limits the duration of waiting by vehicles within a particular period for the purpose of their being loaded or unloaded) which applies on that side for at least eight hours during the period from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on at least four days other than a Sunday in any week at some other times other than those during the period from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

(3) The road marking shown in diagram 1019 may be placed on a side of a road only fort the purpose of indicating a statutory prohibition or restriction on the waiting of vehicles for the purpose of their being loaded or unloaded (but not for indicating a statutory prohibition of restriction which
