CHAP. 186.-An act making appropriations for the support of the Military Acad- March 1, 1893. emy for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-four. ; Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums be, Military_ Academy and the same are hereby, appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury “”°’°*’"““°““‘ not otherwise appropriated, for the support of the Military Academy for the fiscal year ending June thirtieth, eighteen hundred and ninety- four: For pay of one superintendent of the United States Military Acad- m1Q“gr‘],§°;‘;§§§';*@,f“‘ emy (colonel), in addition to pay as lieutenant-colonel of engineers, hve` hundred dollars. For pay of eight professors, twenty-seven thousand dollars. For pay of one associate professor of mathematics, two thousand dollars; and there shall be appointed at the Military Academy from the Army, in addition to the professors authorized by the existing laws, an associate professor of mathematics, who shall receive the pay and of*}m¤¤g,f:§ufgtg;{Qf°”°’ allowances of a captain mounted, and when his service as associate Pay mimtwlmm. professor of mathematics at the Academy exceeds ten years, he shall 1··>¤s¤vi¤y rar receive the pay and allowances of major; and hereafter there shall be allowed and paid to the said associate professor of mathematics ten · per centum of his current yearly pay for each and every term of five years’ service in the Army and at the Academy: Provided, That such pytquo. addition shall in no case exceed forty per centum of said yearly pay; L“'“*· “°‘ and said associate professor of mathematics is hereby placed upon the same footing as regards restrictions upon pay and retirement from active service as officers of the Army. For one commandant of cadets (lieutenant colonel), in addition to pay as captain, one thousand two hundred dollars. For pay of one instructor of practical military engineering (major), in addition to pay as captain, five hundred dollars. For pay of one instructor of ordnance and science of gunnery (major), in addition to pay as captain, five hundred dollars. For pay of eight assistant professors (captains), in addition to pay as iirst lieutenants, four thousand dollars. For pay of three senior instructors of cavalry, artillery, and infantry tactics (captains), in addition to pay as iirst lieutenants, one thousand five hundred dollars. For pay of tour assistant instructors of cavalry, artillery, and infantry tlactics (captains), in addition to pay as first lieutenants, two thousand o ars. For pay of one adjutant, in addition to pay as second lieutenant, four hundred dollars. _ For pay of one treasurer, quartermaster, and commissary of cadets, in addition to pay as captain of infantry, seven hundred dollars. I For pay of one master of the sword, one thousand five hundred dollars. For pay of cadets, one hundred and sixty-seven thousand dollars; cum. and hereafter no cadet shall receive more than at the rate of five hundred and forty dollars a year. For pay of one teacher of music, one thousand and eighty dollars.
