[Pub lic, No . 33. National Park Service, and for other purposes . Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the minimum area for administration, protection, and general development by the National Park Service in the Shenandoah National Park, the establishment of which is provided for by the Act of Congress approved May 22, 1926 (Forty-fourth Statutes, page 616), be, and the same is hereby, established as three hundred and twenty-seven thousand acres, and so much of the said Act of May 22, 1926, as is inconsistent herewith is hereby repealed . SEC. 2 . That the Secretary of the Interior is hereby authorized to lease lands within the Shenandoah National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park for periods not exceeding two years, upon such conditions as he may in his discretion deem proper, to persons and educational or religious institutions occupying same or who had or claim to have had some inte rest in t he title to the sa me prior to the est ablish ment of the park . CHAP. 60.-An Act Granting the consent of Congress to the highway department of the State of Alabama to construct a bridge across Elk River on the Athens-F lorence r oad betwe en Lauder dale and Limestone Counties, Ala- bama. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the consent of Congress is hereby granted to the highway department of the S tate of Alab ama and its suc cess ors and ass igns to con stru ct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the Elk River at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, on the Athens-Florence road between Lauderdale and Limestone Counties, in the State of Alabama, in accordance with the provisions of the Act entitled "An Act to regulate the construction of bridges over navigable waters," approved March 23, 1906 .
