Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of War be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a prel iminar y exam inati on to be made of Republican River, Smoky Hill River, and minor tributaries of Kansas River, with a view to the contr ol of their fl oods in accor dance with th e provisions o f section 3 of an Act entitled "An Act to provide for the control of the . floods of the Mississippi River and of the Sacramento River, California, and for other purposes", approved March 1, 1917, the cost thereof to be pa id from appropriations heretofore or her eaf ter ma de for examinations, surveys, and contingencies of rivers and harbors . Approved, April 10, 1936 . [CH APTE R 173 .1 AN ACT To convey certain land to the city of Enfield, Connecticut. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States o f America in Congress assembled, Tha t the Se cretary of the Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized to convey to the Board of Selectmen of the town of Enfield of the State of Con- necticut, for street purposes only, all the right, title, and interest of the United States to the following-described parcel of land which forms a part of the new post-office site at Enfield, Connecticut : Lying and being in the town of Enfi eld, c ounty of Har tford , State of Connecticut, being a strip of land fronting thirty-two feet on the northerly side of High Street and extending of that width in a nor thwardly directi on along the wes terly si de of Ba rtley Av e- nue for the full depth of the post-office site, a distance of one hun- dred and fifty feet : Provided, however, That the said town of Enfield, Connecticut, shall not have the right to sell or convey the said described premises nor to devote the same to any other purpose than as hereinbefore provided

and in the event said premises shall

not be used for street purposes only and cared for and maintained as are other public street s in said tow n, the right, title, and in terest conveyed to the town of Enfield shall revert to the United States .
