1 825 sioners of the District of Columbia may designate for such and other purposes on the occasion aforesaid such streets, avenues, and sidewalks in said city of Washington under their control as they may deem proper and necessary : Provided, however, That all stands or supervisfonofstands, platforms that may be erected on the publis 1 space, as aforesaid, etc . including such as may b e erected in connection wi th the display of fire- works, shall be under the said supervision of the said inaugural committee, and no stand shall be built on the sidewalk, streets, parks, and public grounds of the District of Columbia, not including the area o n the so uth side of Penn sylvania Avenue directly in fron t of the Wh ite Hous e, excep t such a s are ap proved b y the in augural com- mittee and the buildin g inspec tor of t he Distr ict of C olumbia, and no stands shall be built on the sidewalks or streets on the south side of Pennsylvania Avenue directly in front of the White House, except such as are approved by the inaugural committee, the building inspec- tor of the District of Columbia, and the Secretary of the Interior And provided further, That the reservations or public spaces structures, removal of occupi ed by the stan ds or other s tructures sha ll after the i nauguration be promptly restored to their condition before such occupation, and that the inaugural committee shall indemnify the appropriate agency of the Go vernm ent fo r any damage s of any kind whatsoever upon such reservations or spaces by reason of such use . SEC . 2 . The Commissioners of the District of Columbia are hereby Overhead conductors authcrized to permit the committee on illumination, of the inaugural for illuminations . committee for said inaugural ceremonies, to stretch suitable overhead conductors, with sufficient supports wherever necessary, for the pur- pose of connecting with the present supply of light for the purpose of effecting the said illumination : Provided, That, if it shall be Provisos . necessary to erect wires for illuminating or other purposes over any supervision . park or reservation in the District of Columbia, the work of erection and removal of said wires shall be under the supervision of the official in charge of said park or reservation : Provided further, That Time limitation . the sa id conductors shall not be used for conv eying electric al currents after January 24, 1937, and shall, with their supports, be fully and entirely removed from the streets and avenues of the said city of Washington on or before January 31, 1937 : Provided further, That sa fety preca utions, the stretching and removing of the said wires shall be under the etc . supervision of the Commissioners of the District of Columbia, or such other o fficials as may have jur isdictio n in the premise s, who shall see that the p rovisions of this resoluti on are enforce d, that all needful precautions are taken for the protection of the public, and that the pavement of any street, avenue, or alley disturbed is replaced in as g ood condition as before en ter ing up on the work herein authorized : And provided further, That no expense or damage on No Federal or local account of or due to the stretching, operation, or removal of the said expense or damage . te mpora ry ove rhead conduc tors shall be inc urred by the United States or the District of Columbia . SEC . 3 . The Secretary of War and the Secretary of the Navy be, etc oan of tents, flags, and they are hereby, authorized to loan to the Committee on Inaugu- ral Ceremonies such hospital tents, smaller tents, camp appliances, ensigns, flags, signal numbers, and so forth, belonging to the Gov- ernment of the United States (except battle flags), that are not now in use and may be suitable and proper for decoration, and which may, in their judgment, be spared without detriment to the public service, such flags to be used in connection with said ceremonies by said committee under such regulations and restrictions as may be prescribed by the said Secretaries, or either of them, in decorating the fronts of public buildings and other places on the line of march i So in original . 10-Wit) _36_1 i a
