R ., the frequency bands from 380 to 395 kc (789 to 759 m) and from 616 to 550 kc (583 to 545 m) shall be used by the maritime and aeronautical mobile services, on condition that there will be no interference therefrom with the authorized services of other countries. [104] i The band of 395-415 ko (759-723 m) shall be used only for communications between aircraft and aeronautical stations and by radiobeacons. [105] " The European administrations shall be authorized to arrange among themselves to place in the band of 415-460 ko (723-652 m) broadcasting stations which, by reason of their geographical position and their limited power, will not interfere with the maritime mobile services. [106] The wave of 500 ko (00 m) shall be the international alling- and distres-wave . The use of this wave is defined in articles 19, 22, and 30 [ll,, and $ftl. [107] " The European administrations shall be authorized to arrange among themselves to maintain in the band 615-550 ko (583-545 m) the existing broadcasting stations which, by reason of their geographical position, will interfere neither with the mobile services in the band of 485-516 ko (619-683 m) nor with the services not open to public correspondence in the band of 515-650 ke (583-545 m). [108] Moreover, the services not open to public correspondence will be organized in such a manner as not to interfere with the reception of the broadcasting stations so chosen, within the limits of the national terri- tories of these stations. [109] t Themobileservices may use the band of 550to 1,300 kc (54 to 230.8m), on the condition that they will not interfere with the services of a country which uses that same band exclusively for broadcasting. [110] *The use of the frequency of 1,34 ko (219.9 m) in type-B waves shall be authorized in Japan, for small ships of which the power is below 300 watts, and on condition that no interference will result there- from to the services ofothercountries. However, in the region of North America, only type-Al waves shall be authorized between 1800D and 23.00 o'clock, local time.
