July 2, 1946 [H. R . 1797] [Private Law 736] Arcadio Saldafia Agosto. AN ACT For the relief of the Hatheway Patterson Corporation. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to the Hatheway Patterson Corporation, Jersey City, New Jersey, the sum of $7,500. The pay- ment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said Hatheway Patterson Corporation against the United States for prop- erty damage resulting from the taking on November 15, 1942, by the United States of a temporary building owned by such corporation within the area of Port Newark Army Air Base, New Jersey: Pro- vided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. Any person violating the provisions of this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in any sum not exceeding $1,000. Approved July 25, 1946. [CHAPTER 621] AN ACT For the relief of David M. Matteson. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to David M. Matteson, Cambridge, Massachusetts, the sum of $3,375. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said David M. Matteson against the United States and against the United States George Washington Bicentennial Commission for amounts payable to him, pursuant to an agreement between him and said Commission, for work performed in indexing the "Definitive Writings of George Washington": Provided, That no part of the amount appropriated in this Act in excess of 10 per centum thereof shall be paid or delivered to or received by any agent or attorney on account of services rendered in connection with this claim, and the same shall be unlawful, any contract to the contrary notwithstanding. [CHAPTER 622] AN ACT For the relief of Arcadio Saldafia Agosto; Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury is authorized and directed to pay, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to Arcadio Saldafia Agosto, Santurce, Puerto Rico, the sum of $5,000. The payment of such sum shall be in full settlement of all claims of the said Arcadio Saldafia Agosto against the United States on account of personal injuries sustained by him as the result of an accident on July 27, [60 STAT.
