NATIONAL CAPITAL HOUSING AUTHORITY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PROPERTIES
For the operation and maintenance of properties under title I of the "c*codV 5-103 District of Columbia Alley Dwelling Act, $38,000: Provided, That all to 5-111. receipts derived from sales, leases, or other sources shall be covered into the Treasury of the United States monthly: Provided further, That so long as funds are available from appropriations for the foregoing purposes, the provisions of section 507 of the Housing Act of 64 Stat. 81. 1950 (Public Law 475, Eighty-first Congress), shall not be effective. For expenses necessary to carry out the purposes of the National Scicnce Foundation Act of 1950, as amended (42 U.S.C. 1861-1875), including award of graduate fellowships; services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a), at rates not to exceed $50 per diem for individuals; hire of passenger motor vehicles; not to exceed $300,000 for expenses of travel; not to exceed $350 for the purchase of newspapers and periodicals; and reimbursement of the General Services Administration for security guard services; $130,000,000, to remain available until expended, of which $1,000,000 shall be transferred to the Bureau of Public Roads, Department of Commerce, for construction of a secondary road to the Optical Astronomy Observatory on Kitt Peak in Arizona: Provided, That of the foregoing amount not less than $30,250,000 shall be available for tuition, grants, and allowances in connection with a program of supplementary training for high school science and mathematics teachers.
