SAYLOR, Anna L. (Mrs. Frank L.), born in Terre Haute, Indiana, daughter of Thomas B. and Katherine C. McBride, a resident of California for sixteen years. Director of State Dept. of Social Welfare and member of the Governor's Council (only woman on this council which is composed of the nine directors of State Depts.). From 1919-27 member of California State Legislature, the first woman elected from Alameda County and one of the first four to sit in the Assembly in Sacramento; served on many iniportant Legislative Committees; secured the passage of many laws. Was elected to the Hall of Fame by the women of California in 1928.
