ROLAND, Ruth (Miss), a native of San Francisco, California and life-long resident of the state. Motion picture star. Had a most picturesque career, took dancing lessons at the age of two, and was featured in a specialty act when she was only three years old. At the age of six she was a headliner with Keith and Orpheum Circuits; at one time she appeared as a vaudeville artist in Honolulu and was considered the first child star in vaudeville, played in stock companies and road shows at various times. David W. Griffith gave her the first opportunity in motion pictures with the old Vitagraph Company; worked later for Kalem Company and was known as the “Kalem Girl”; did several pictures for Balboa Company. Has made a great hit in a number of Pathe Serials and is now planning to return to the serial picture game. Has been equally successful in the real estate and subdivision business.
