WHITING, Lucy Jackson, (Mrs.), born in Norwalk, Ohio, 1849, daughter of Charles and Alberta Fitch Jackson, a former resident of Peking, China, living in California for eleven years. Married to the late Rev. Dr. Joseph L. Whiting. Children: Mabel G., Edith Whiting Thatcher. Retired missionary. Assisted her husband in opening the Presbyterian Mission Station in Peking in 1869; kept a boarding school for poor and homeless girls; later started an Industrial School, where women could earn their living, by doing cross stitch embroidery. WHITING, Marian Tracie, Dr. (Mrs.), a native of Louisville, Kentucky, daughter of Theodore C. and Margaret A. Watson Tracie, a resident of California for 10 years.
