"avigation" is a real word! edit

@Chrisguise Just letting you know that this was not a typo of navigation: avigation is "aerial navigation" and is a word that Earhart uses repeatedly throughout the book. (´▽`) --FPTI (talk) 06:22, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for pointing this out, although the word only appears four times in one chapter, so it was easily missed in this case. Also, 'upheavel' is not an American spelling of 'upheaval', so I would contend that my SIC on that was valid. Chrisguise (talk) 15:03, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Actually, you didn't add that SIC on 'upheavel'- I did! I am no longer confident of it because of this page. Idk, it might be an archaic alt spelling. FPTI (talk) 19:44, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Apologies about mis-claiming work. Before I sent my earlier message, I did do a search on 'upheavel' which didn't bring up any dictionary entries; if it were an archaic variant I would have expected to find something. I'm sure there are other examples of odd/incorrect spellings in the book too. Chrisguise (talk) 21:13, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't attach any credence to the link you shared - the sources are dismal. Chrisguise (talk) 21:16, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
