Was this written for the headstone ? If so, it wasn't before 1928.

@Beardo: See the above links. The copyrightable text on the headstone was written in at latest 1846 (maybe not 1793 as initially thought, according to the above book's appendix, although the long s styling wouldn't make sense for 1846...) so it would be considered PD-old. Then, the rest of it (the title, the quote, the inscribed name of Seymour), would be considered ineligible for copyright because it's just simple statements of common facts.
