I notice that a "politically correct alternative" is included within brackets on the text page. I would suggest that this alternative lyric be moved to this talk page, and that there be included with it several other "politically correct alternatives" that have been recorded and performed over the past several decades, rather than having them, or the one that's currently protruding there, inserted (albeit in brackets) into the text itself. Unless there's some debate or other rational reason why this should not be done, I will perform this sometime near January 2013. StavinChain (talk) 01:21, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

You need to check against the source text. If the particular source from which this text was taken includes the alternative lyrics, then they need to be kept in order to be faithful to the publication. The issue is not what the original lyrics were, but rather what lyrics were published in the particular source from which this text was found. --EncycloPetey (talk) 01:59, 6 October 2012 (UTC)
