M. A. Woolwich; joined service in R. A. 1875; retired, 1881; since been employed in technical work connected with science of electricity and artillery; inventor of many instruments and apparatus connected with these two sciences; at present the head of the Royal Gun and Carriage Factories, Woolwich.
