Aims for this translation

bsd This is an aid to my own study and may others also participate in the translations for Torah learning lishmah and for zikui harabim.

Ilan Nanach informed me the Ben Ish Chai held that kaballah should not be translated outside of lashon hakodesh/aramaic. Accordingly we probably should not translate some of the kabbalistic introductions in each parashah, but maybe just a couple so that people can get a taste of the delight and illumination of this sefer. A rabbi friend of ours replied that he "feels that any Kabbala that is purely theosophic should only be given to those who are ready. However, those kabbalisic matters that apply to serving HaShem (as is the case in Ben Ish Chai and Chassidic literature) are for all." Nissimnanach (talk) 02:06, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Nissimnanach
