Chap. XXI.—An Act for the relief of the Marshals of certain districts therein mentioned.

Compensation for taking the census to be apportioned.
1800, ch. 12.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the Treasury be, and he hereby is authorized and directed to apportion to the several marshals of the districts of Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, respectively, who have been employed or concerned in taking the late census, the compensation allowed by the “Act providing for the second census or enumeration of the inhabitants of the United States,” according to the service each may have performed.
