My work on legislation (following the UK model) goes like this:
- Notes for the reader

- Long title of Act. [Date of assent]
- Preamble and enacting words
- Sections (Section 1: Section Title)
etc.
e.g. Parliament Act 1911
- Parliament Act 1911 c. 13 with amendments of the Parliament Act 1949.

- An Act to make provision with respect to the powers of the House of Lords in relation to those of the House of Commons, and to limit the duration of Parliament. [August 18, 1911]
