Source for Whether One May Flee from a Deadly Plague edit

Hi! Thanks for Whether One May Flee from a Deadly Plague. I see it's from a 1999 collection of texts. Does that source indicate where this translation comes from? Schindler was active around the 1950s, so it will be good to ensure the original (English) text doesn't have a copyright on the translation. Oops I think I might have quoted the wrong source on hindsight.
I was referring to the book "Luther's Works" from the 1968 publication by Fortress P. [Linked Here].
The content page states that the translator was Schindler. Thanks for checking the edits! Dafatskin (talk) 11:58, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
That was published in 1968 with a copyright notice, which makes it copyright in the US until 1st Jan 2064 (1968 + 95). Does the translation pre-date that 1968 publication? See Help:Public_domain#Published_in_the_United_States for the (many!) various conditions that can apply to works published in the US. Inductiveloadtalk/contribs 13:06, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ah then it seems that I am definitely in error then. The latest publication I can find is the 1968 one. I presume this means the article is under copyright and has to be deleted right? Dafatskin (talk) 13:39, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sadly, yes, unless we can find an earlier source (that was not renewed or otherwise is PD). It's very annoying! I will refer to WS:CV for wider discussion in case I am wrong and/or there's a way to keep it.
Please (please) do not take this to mean we don't appreciate the effort - we've all been there. Unfortunately, we do have to toe the copyright law lines even though we really don't want to and I imagine nearly everyone here thinks the copyright terms we have are excessively long to the point of insanity. Until we can relocate to an off-sea platform, that is! Sorry! Inductiveloadtalk/contribs 15:26, 16 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
Yup no problem! I've seen the post on the Copyright Discussion page! No worries, I'm still looking forward to contributing in other, less "copyrightable" ways and I took this as a learning point for a newbie like me :) Thanks so much for the support and kindness.
