Hello Kwamikagami, welcome to Wikisource! Thanks for your interest in the project; we hope you'll enjoy the community and your work here.

You'll find an (incomplete) index of our works listed at Wikisource:Works, although for very broad categories like poetry you may wish to look at the categories like Category:Poems instead.

Please take a glance at our help pages (especially Adding texts and Wikisource's style guide). Most questions and discussions about the community are held at the Scriptorium.

The Community Portal lists tasks you can help with if you wish. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my talk page!

Memorial of the Cherokees edit

Thank you so much for helping with this document!

Please note that "Problematic" isn't used for typos in the transcription, but normally for problems with the source file, damaged scans, when images need to be added, or similar issues. So when there are typos, you can simply correct the errors, and (once the errors are corrected) change it to the second level of proofreading (validation). --EncycloPetey (talk) 21:40, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thanks! Kwamikagami (talk) 22:08, 12 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Pallas und andere afrikanische Vokabularien edit

Are you planning to translate this work into English? Or did you mean to add this work to the de.WS? --EncycloPetey (talk) 17:18, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

de.WS would be fine. I didn't realize we made that distinction. My translation wouldn't be worthwhile, esp. since I can't ID several of the proper names. And probably best to truncate the title at the colon. I don't see how to move it. Kwamikagami (talk) 17:22, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
The simplest way is to copy-paste it into de.WS. The German Wikisource is a separate project from English Wikisource, just as de.WT and en.WT are separate projects. --EncycloPetey (talk) 17:45, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Okay, copied over, but how do I link from WP so I can delete the copy here? Kwamikagami (talk) 19:38, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

You can use Template:Wikisourcelang on Wikipedia to link to a non-English Wikisource. Or use Template:Wikisourcelang-inline if you prefer that format instead of a box-style template. --EncycloPetey (talk) 19:40, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hm, looks like de.WS requires scans of the original text, which I don't have because I only still have the .txt copy that I made. Kwamikagami (talk) 19:47, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

So no chance of a transfer then. The work cannot be hosted here if it's not in English, so if you want to keep a copy for yourself, please make that copy and then tag the page for deletion. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:08, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Non-English sources are not allowed? Wouldn't that be like only allowing English words at Wiktionary? Kwamikagami (talk) 23:27, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

No, it would be like having definitions in German at the English Wiktionary. English Wiktionary defines all words, but does so only in English. The Wikisources similarly offer services in a single language. The English Wikisource offers works in English or in English translation, but not in other languages. Every Wikisource does this. --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:31, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I've copied it over. Go ahead and delete. Thanks. Kwamikagami (talk) 23:34, 26 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Deprecated markup edit

Hi Kwamikagami,

I noticed that here and here you used <big><big>. This element is deprecated, both in HTML in general and on enWS in particular. The replacement is {{larger}} which gives the same effect. Xover (talk) 17:59, 27 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
