Translations edit

Hi, Raskolnik. Thanks for your interest in Wikisource. I noticed that you've translated some of Silva's works. I am just leaving this message to make sure that you are agreeing to release these translations either into the public domain or under the GFDL, or some other license that allows us to (1) post them here at Wikisource without violating copyright, and (2) be able to edit the translations for typographical errors and such. Also, such translations will need to be tagged. Thanks, and welcome!—Zhaladshar (Talk) 03:34, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Re: Translations edit

Glad to see my work isn't going totally unnoticed :P.

Yes, I absolutely grant these to be released...the GDFL sounds good, as frankly I take pride in my work and would like to get credit for it, but I have no intention of locking the pages, and welcome typo corrections and the like. I'm intermittently going through his poetry page while working on the novella he wrote, but wanted to get something up there so the page isn't full of red links. Anyway, please let me know if there's anything else you need. Raskolnik 05:34, 4 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I just fixed one poem you translated by adding a header and giving you more prominent credit. Beautiful work, by the way. To You. Danny 22:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your contribution of Dark Night of the Soul. The license you selected for it, Creative Commons Attribution-NoDerivs 2.5, is not acceptable under our copyright policy because it does not allow derivative works. Please choose another license, such as {{CC-BY}}, {{GFDL}} or {{PD-release}}. Thank you. --Benn Newman (AMDG) 01:52, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jaime Sabines edit

Hi Zach. I've added the poem you added by Jamie Sabines as a possible copyright violation. Unfortunately, there are a lot of sites out there that don't care much about copyright. So wide spread existance on the web can't be taken as proof that something is in the public domain. I hope this doesn't stop your work here on translations of other spanish authors. - illy 12:31, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Just to give you some more info to work with, Mexican copyright is life+100, so Sabines' work won't automatically leave copyright until 2099. Unless you can find documentation that he released his work into the PD, we unfortunately can't host it on Wikisource. - illy 12:41, 16 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Author:John of the Cross edit

Hi, Wikisource already has an author page for Author:John of the Cross. We do not use titles (like saint) in author pages, so I deleted Author:Saint John of the Cross. We do not have redirects from the main namespace to other namespaces, so I deleted Saint john of the cross and John of the cross. --Benn Newman (AMDG) 02:02, 29 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
