Any government documents up to the 1946 "unification" would probably be pretty dull and boring, but kinda cool to have anyway. These documents will probably have some juicy information in them that explains the history.
Our Australia Day article uses this ref: Sydney Gazette, 24 January 1818 (quoted in More Pig Bites Baby! Stories from Australia's First Newspaper, volume 2, ed. Micahel Connor, Duffy and Snellgrove, 2004, ISBN 1-876631-91-0). That newspaper article is PD, and could be hosted on Wikisource, if we can find it. There are also likely to be millions of PD newspaper articles that mention Australia Day.
documents and newspaper articles about this event would also be interesting.
This could be added to our EB1911 collection, and proofread using the scans at WS:EB1911.
