Founding of the City edit

On Wikisource, we don't add to Roberts' translation; we present it as it was published. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:17, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

@EncycloPetey: What's the reasoning behind this? Is there a policy somewhere? I note that there are some additions in the French edition. T8612 (talk) 10:15, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
This is policy everywhere. We don't editorialize. If there are additions in the French Wikisource copy, then either they were (a) added by whoever was the translator of the French edition on French Wikisource, or (b) someone editorialized there and no one on French Wikisource has noticed the problem. --EncycloPetey (talk) 14:47, 5 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

fixed identification of Sutton-Rackham's De Oratore edit

Hi. You placed the Sutton-Rackham translation of Cicero's De Oratore under "The Orator", but it's actually a translation of "On Oratory", as The Orator is Cicero's similarly-entitled book Orator. (Why De Oratore isn't called "On The Orator", that I don't know.) I fixed the pages as appropriate. Also note that there is a book 3, corresponding to the third conference in the books, published in the Loeb Classical Library as a separate volume (the books 1 and 2 you were planning to add are in vol. 348, but book 3 is in vol. 349). If you resume your transcription project, now you know where to find it. :) --Ser be etre shi (talk) 04:52, 13 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

I don't really know what I did, but thank you. T8612 (talk) 09:55, 13 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
