Could not start with Ney.

NOV. 16.

Came home slowly as Ney was too bad to travel.

NOV. 17.

Preparing to kill beast; but as customers did not come, obliged to defer it till next day. (n) let young steer go; & determined to kill Ploughboy; as he is quite too heavy, for the country & slow; an odd bullock; & the 3 steers will be of more value for work.

NOV. 18.

Killed bullock (weight 850 lbs) Spent most of the night with L cutting & salting meat -

Sunday, Clearing up & attending to meat.

NOV. 20.

Thought it was Sunday till late; & only resalted meat; & sent for horses to go to station.

NOV. 21.

Horse hunting.

NOV. 22.

Went to Middleton's on way to station, M very ill, self also.

NOV. 23.

Too ill to travel most day. Went out to Grants' at sundown.
