- be paid to his Majefty's Searcher or Searchers at Grave/end, for the Certificate of the Entry of the
- Arrival of any fuch Fifiiing Ship, Sloop, Smack, or other Veflel or VefTels as aforcAiid, the Sum
- of two Shillings, which v/as to be applied in Manner following; that is to fay, There fhould be
- kept and retained by and to the Ufe of the faid Searcher or Searchers, for maVing out fuch Certi-.
- hcate, fix Pence; and the remaining one Shilling and fix Pence was thereby vefted in the faid
- Trurtces, and was to be paid by fuch Searcher or Searchers, from time to time to the faid Tru-
- Ifccs, or fuch other Perfon or Perfons as the faid Truftees, or any five or more of them fliould, by
- any Writing for that Purpofe under their Hands and Seals, direct and appoint; and which faid
- Payment of ore Shilling and fix Pence, on each Filhing Veflel as aforefaid, was to be applied
- by the fiiid Truftees, or any five of them, in the firft Place to pay fuch Infpe(5lor, or In-
- fpeftors of the PMfhing Vcfi'els, for his or their faid Service, and for theCharges of a Boat, fuch
- yearly Sum as the faid Truftees, or any nine of them, fliould think was fit and reafonable for fuch
' Service; and if any Surplus arofe over and above, then to apply fuch Surplus in the fame Manner
- as the Surplus arifing from the Tolls and Duties of the faid recited A61 were directed to be ap-
- plied: And it was thereby alfo further enadled, That the Mafter, Owner, Chief Officer, or Ma-
- riner, v/ho fhould have the Care or Conduit of any fuch Ship, Sloop, Smack, or other Vclfel or

- after the Arrival of fuch Fifliing Ship, Sloop, Smack, or other Veflel or V^efl^els at the Nore as ,
- aforefaid, truly report the Time of fuch Arrival to his Majefty's faid Searcher or Searchers at
- their Office at Gravefcnd^ or to the Chief Officer of his Majefty's Cuftoms there, who was thereby
- directed and required to take Notice of and enter the fame in a Book to be kept for that Purpofe,
- and to give a Certificate thereof to fuch Mafter, Owner, Chief Officer, or Mariner belonging to.
- the faid Fifliing Ship, Sloop, Smack, or other Veflel: And whereas the going to Grave/end^ and.
' the ftopping there to report to his Majefty's Searcher or Searchers at their Office at Grave/end, or
- to the Chief Officer of his Majefty's Cuftoms there, the Time of the Arrival of every Fifliing
' Ship, Sloop, Smack, or other Veflel or Veflels at the Norc, within the Space of three Days after
- fuch the Arrival thereof at the A^<j;v, hath been found inconvenient, and fometimes prejudicial, to
' the Owners of fuch Fifliing Ships, Sloops, Smacks, and VefTels, as by ftopping to make fuch Re-
- port or Entry there, Fifliing Ships, Sloops, Smacks, and Veflx-ls, fometimes lofe the Tide, and

- and the great Penalties the Owners of fuch Veflels arc, by the faid herein before recited A6t made
' in the faid twenty-ninth Year of his prefent Majefty's Reign, liable to in cafe of the Negle(£t or ' Omiffion of the Mafter or other Perfon, who hath the Condudt of the Fifliing Ship, Sloop, Smack, ' or other Fifhing Veflel (and in general is only Servant to the Owner or Owners thereof) to make ' fuch Report at Grave/end, as by the faid herein before recited A£t is directed j and the not giving ' a Power to appeal where the Parties informed againft deem thcmfelves aggrieved by the Convidtion ' of a Juftice of Peace, tend to the Difcouragement of the Owners of fuch Fifliing VefTels, who are ' at a confiderable Expence to fit out fuch Veflels to catch Fifh at Sea;' For Remedy therefore in the Premifl^es, may it pleafe your moft Excellent Majefty, that it may be enacted; And be it enadted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual So much of th; recited and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament afTembled, and by the Authority of the ^uv °^ v^r^^'^' *■ " fame, That trom and after the twenty-fourth Day oi June one thoufand feven hundred and fixty,
