VIII, 5 (79b) ה׳ שאינה מלכות לשום (Mish. אהרת) in the name of a government not corresponding (to the country in which the document was written, or not recognized in the country). Kidd. 70a לו ה׳ שאינה אשה a wife be- neath the social standing of her husband (eventually degrading the priestly status of the issue); Y. Gitt. I, 43c bot.; a. fr. -- Pl. (from הגון, v. הגן) הגונות. Snh. 93a ה׳ לכהונה fit to be married by priests.

הודאה, הודיה f. (ודי) 1) confession, admission. Shebu. VI, 1 וכ׳ בששוה הה׳ the amount admitted to be due must be at least one P'rutah. B. Mats. 3b, a. fr. וכ׳ דין בעל הודאת the admission of indebtedness by the defendant is worth as much as a hundred winesses; a. fr. -- 2) confession before the Lord, thanksgiving. Sot. S. a. l. note) if the officers of the congregation have had the bricks (for the new Synagogue) piled up, the beams trimmed &c. Sabb. 77b הו׳ הדר לאפוקי (Ms. M. הדרנא ה׳; in ul. הדר left out, v. marg. note a. Rabb. D. S. a. l.) to exclude what is required for rubbing all around the sore.
