to be generous, proud. Cant. R. to VII, 7 מתחטא שהיה
וכ׳ על he was generous towards &c. (ref. to Gen. XIV, 23,
Dan. V, 17). -- 3) to be imperious, to lord it, to ask petut-
antly. Taan. III, 8 לפני מתח׳ אתה thou commest petulantly
before the Lord וכ׳ על מתח׳ שהוא כבן like a son that
