XXIII, 40) שענף את לקליעה דומה עצו the tree the ramificatuon around whose trunk resembles plaiting; Y. Succ. עבי, עבה (b. h.; cmp. עבב) to be thick, dense, dark. lif. נעבה to become thick, swell. Tanh. Vaera 3 ובלען וב׳ רותר ׳ ולא . . Aaron's staff swallowed them up and yet was not thicker than before. (עבט, v. עבוט; cmp. חבט I) [fastening, press- ing,] 1) (גמל של) sumpter-saddle consisting of a pair of panniers tied across the animal's back (Loat. clitellae, Gr. zout~a~); also the cushion on the camel's back (Arab. gabit).
