37. Þonne andswariað þā rihtwīsan and cweþað, Drihten, hwænne gesāwe wē ðē hingrigendne, and wē ðē fēddon? þyrstendne, and wē ðē drinc sealdon?[2]

38. Hwænne gesāwe wē þæt ðū cuma wǣre, and þē in laþodon? oððe nacodne, and wē þē scrȳddon?[3]

39. [oððe hwænne gesāwon wē ðē untrumne,] oððe on cwearterne, and cōmon tō þē?[4]

40. Đonne andswarað sē Cyning hym and cwyþ tō heom, Sōþ ic ēow secge, Swā lange swā gē dydon ānum of ðysum mīnum lǣstum gebrōðrum, swā lange gē hyt dydon mē.[5]

41. Þonne segþ hē þām þe bēoð on hys wynstran healfe, Gewītað, āwyrgyde, fram mē on þæt ēce fȳr þe ys dēofle and hys englum gegearwud.[6]
