Father! from all secret sins, so shall we finally be numbered among those happy ones whom Thou hast designated "the pure in heart." Blessed are such, for they shall see Thee, and live in thy bright presence for ever. O God of mercy, go before us through all our duties this day; and give us to feel that when Thou art seen to go in and out before us, to precede us in our inmost thoughts, and to go before us to lead the way in all our external actions of life, then shall our moments pass quietly and righteously on, and our end shall be blessed and peaceful for ever.

LORD GOD and Saviour Jesus Christ, the

One only Creator and Preserver, we humbly approach Thee to praise and give Thee thanks for all the gracious and preserving mercies we have received from thy bountiful hand through thisday. Our entire dependence rests on Thee, the universal Giver of all good; by Thee alone, all our wants, both spiritual and temporal, are supplied. Thou art, gracious Saviour! the Bread of Life, who fillest the hungry soul with good, and Thou wilt never send the desiring soul empty away. O Lord, help us to cease from evil, and to carn to do well; for evil cannot dwell in thy presence, nor falsehood exist in the light of thy countenance. "Purge us with hyssop, and we shall be clean; wash us, and we shall be whiter than snow." Grant. O Heavenly Father! that with singleness of eye, and purity of heart, we may be enabled to follow Thee in the way of life.
