256 Praper for Thursday Morning.

Thy divine Word inquires, "Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in His holy place?" Blessed be thy name for the answer Thou hast given to these searching questions: "He that hath clean hands and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully, he shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation." May our minds be purified by Thee from all vanity, and our hearts be the dwelling-place of thy love; so shall we be prepared to ascend to the mountain of thy holiness.

Thursday Morning.

ALL-MERCIFUL and Almighty Father! with humble minds and refreshed bodies we again approach Thee to offer up our morning sacrifice of prayer and praise for those unmerited mercies which Thou hast so abundantly bestowed upon us. May thy Holy Spirit of life-giving influence guide our footsteps through this day's journey of life. Help us, O Lord Jesus, Thou Good Shepherd of Israel! to walk in the light which Thou hast imparted, and to perceive that thy Truth is the true light of our mental world, making all joyous within by brightening the path that leads us onward to eternal day. Blessed Saviour! Thou who didst lay down thy life for thy church and people; thy life of Love and Wisdom, to be the ALL in ALL of our souls, to be our spiritual meat and drink, and to cheer, to guide, and to bless;
