gracious Father! thy love will not leave us in our distresses, but will cause thy face to shine upon us, and we shall be saved. May thy blessing rest upon every inhabitant of this house; and as of old thou didst feed the Israelites in the wilderness with manna, so feed us, Almighty Father, with that living bread—the manna from heaven—which nourisheth the soul unto everlasting life. As thou didst guard thy people from danger, and guide them to the land of promise, so guide us, Divine Instructor, by thy Word of Revelation, to that eternal land of promise which Thou in mercy hast provided for those who are prepared for it. Teach us, O Lord, that if we would become inhabitants of thy kingdom above, we must become heavenly-minded in our day and generation; for this is the way that leadeth to life, and to a participation of celestial joys. May we, by constantly looking to Thee for every blessing, realize that gracious promise written in thy Word, where it is said, "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
