to light, and pointed out to thy humble followers the way that leadeth to conjunction with Thee, and to a participation of the bright realities of thy kingdom. O may we all feel the force of this truth, that nothing separates us from Thee but our iniquities and sins. May we all know, by a happy experience, that to depart from evil and do good, is the true way to be fed by Thee with the good of the land, and to be nourished with the Bread of Life, with all the good that cometh down from Thee out of Heaven. Help us, O Lord, this day, to bear our willing parts in the relative duties of life, and thus to promote the spiritual as well as the temporal happiness of all with whom we have to do. Thy grace, O Lord, free as the air we breathe, is all-sufficient; thy strength a solid support to our weakness, and thy truth the hallowed light that brightly illuminates our path to heaven.

We beseech Thee, gracious Lord, to strengthen and console all who are in states of bodily or mental affliction. May they find, in a complete resignation to thy Divine will, a peace that passeth all understanding, and a joy that discovers to their souls the blissful realms of light and peace. Father of mercies, be Thou our instructor and guide, and lead us in the way everlasting. Bow the heavens and come down, that we may feel the sacredness of thy presence, and know that, in this our state of humble prayer, it is good for us to be here. O shine down from between the cherubim, and bless us thy children with the light of life.
