Northanipton, II Feb. 1642. He d. at his house in the Strand, Midx., 6 Jan. 1643/4, aud was bur. at Marholra. Admou. 19 Dec. 1649, to a creditor. II. 1644. 2. William (FitzWilliam), Baron FitzWilliam of Lifford [I.], s. and h., b. about 1609. He m. (lie. from Fac. 11 July 1638, he about 29, Bachr., to marry at Wennington, co. Essex), Jane 1'ebry, of Aveley, Essex, widow, relict of Robert Perry, merchant, said (generally) to be da. and coheir of Hugh Periiv, alias Hunter, Alderman and sometime (1632-33), Sheriff of London. He d. at his house in the Savoy, Midx., 21 Feb. 1658 and was bur. at Marholm. His widow was bur. there 8 April 1671. Her admon. 5 Aug. 1671.( d ) III. 1658. 3 and 1. House of Lords [I.], 25 July 1661. He was Ouslos. Rot. for Peter- borough. He was cr. 21 July 1716, VISCOUNT MILTOWN, co. Westmeath, and EARL FITZ-WILLIAM, co. Tyrone [I.] He m. 10 May 1669, at St. Andrew's, Holborn (lie. from Fac. off., she about 22, with consent of her widowed mother), Anne, da. and finally sole heir of Edmund Crkjier, of Setchey, co. Norfolk. She d. 4 and was bur. 13 Feb. 1716/7, at Wareham, aged 71. Admon. 2 March 1716/7. He d. 28 Dec. 1719, in his 77th year, and was bur. at Marholm. Will pr. 1720. ( a ) His direct line became extinct in 1518, on the death of William Fitz-William of Sprotborougb., which estate then devolved on his aunt Dame Dorothy Copley and ou the family of Copley. From John Fitz-William of Green's Norton, co. Northampton, 6th s. of Sir John F. of Sprotborougb {d. 1418), 4th in descent from Sir William (in the text), abovenamed, derive the Earls Fitz-William (probably the male repre- sentatives of this ancient house), while William (Fitz-William), Earl of Southampton (so cr. 1538), was 4th in descent from Edmund FitzWilliam of Wadworth, co. York (d. 1430, aged 70), the second s. of Sir John F. of Sprotborough (d. 1385), grandson of Sir William (in the text) abovenamed. ( b ) This estate he sold in 1636. ( c ) This William (d. 1615), was s. and h. of Sir William F., three times Deputy of Ireland (who d. 1599), s. and b. of another Sir William F. {d. 1576), s. and h. of Sir William F., well-known as a most opulent Alderman of London (who purchased the estates of Milton and Gainspark and d. 1534), s. and h. of John F. the 6th s. of Sir John F.
