Should we use ʃ or "s" or "f" for the symbols shown here seeing as those symbols do signify an "s" sound? Seperation (talk) 02:49, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- The ʃ is the integral sign or an IPA symbol. The character you're seeing in the text is a long-s or " ſ ". Although it may resemble the IPA symbol, that is because it is in a cursive / italicized font. We don't reproduce font styles, just the text. --EncycloPetey (talk) 08:58, 18 December 2019 (UTC)
- So does that mean we should use an s or ſ? Seperation (talk) 22:15, 25 July 2020 (UTC)
- Seperation: I tend to use
ſ
, although the use of{{ſ}}
,{{ls}}
, ors
are acceptable. The most important part is to have the style standardised throughout a work. TE(æ)A,ea. (talk) 18:27, 30 July 2020 (UTC).
