Possible Sources

edit

Don't know where the original context came from, but I found the following two sources:

1. older book, but modernized spelling: Life and Correspondence of David Hume (1846) by John Hill Burton, p. 31 (Google Books)

2. newer book, but has older spelling which matches the existing Wikisource text: Letters of David Hume (1932), p. 12 (Internet Archive) Dumblepuff (talk) 04:09, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Do either of these match the text we have? Do either contain differences. from our copy? To be useful as a source, it must ezxactly match the text we have here. And you must chose just one scan to be the source. Two publications with different editors, publishers, and dates cannot both be the source of our text. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:15, 7 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Source no. 1 is not the source of our text, as it contains many differences, for example pg. 30: handwriting x hand-writing, countryman x Countryman, Scotsman x Scotchman, ... --Jan Kameníček (talk) 10:03, 17 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
