Authority control proposal edit

Data veracity is always a big issue here, and there are a few positions. There are also a few positions on control and trust of the data maintained. We are consensus focused, and often will only move to the point of agreement, and then discuss the differences to see where we then progress. As such, it can mean iterative and transactional processes, rather than transformative.

Please bear with us, your proposal has much value, and it is about getting the right value, and comfort levels of community members. We will only wanting to add good data to WD, so having the means to identify data differences, especially prior to action, has been a useful means to progress, though it may take our smaller team time to compare and fix prior to the next step. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:54, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Remember that you are talking to people who transcribe and fiddle over spelling and formatting. Attention to detail is our thing, which can be both good and bad. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:03, 6 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thank you very much for this words, billinghurst. Let's try to find consensus... -- T.seppelt (talk) 08:23, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

Interwikis don't belong at Wikidata edit

Unfortunately we need to maintain interwikis here for linking between different wikisource. As Wikisource works are each different editions, then each wikilink is to a different edition, thus not allowing interwikis. If you are putting all wikisource links on the one item, then you are not doing it right at WD. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:42, 22 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
