Hi! edit

Hi Billinghurst, could you check my work there? It's my first day, and I hope I'm doing it fine. Thanks. http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Index:A_history_of_Chile.djvu --Diego Grez (talk) 00:51, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Having a quick look at Index:A history of Chile.djvu it is nice, however, you are over-engineering your pages. Not only will you get coding burn-out, you will also be imposing your presentation and styles onto users who may want their own. Our approach is that the word is king, though we don't get bound up by the typographic components. For example how we handle hyphenation, generally we would remove it all, except where it ends a page. See Side by side proofreading. I will keep looking through some pages. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:00, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have converted one of the contents page to a table, with a noinclude ending, so we can join it up with the next page (would give it noinclude start and end) when transcluded. It is all a little fiddly, however, we have sort of work it out quite nicely now on how to get these content pages working well. Often they are the trickiest part of the books. Our biggest learning is to keep it simple, as we cannot predict every browser configuration and output, so not even try. Also to not get bound by how the book was produced, we need to display in our medium, not the restrictions of a book. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:28, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay. I'm taking a look and I'll try to do it simpler. Thanks! :) --Diego Grez (talk) 01:45, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

The mysterious Header toggle button edit

When proofreading in the Page: namespace and one has their toolbar turned on [Gadgets | Editing (tab) | Editing toolbar (checkbox)], one will see the button  , and clicking it toggles the header/footer on and off. In this space we put the relevant components for top and bottoms of pages by use of the template {{RunningHeader}}, so for example {{RunningHeader|Stanhope|3|Stanhope}} produces

Stanhope
3
Stanhope

I personally have my header/footer set to open in the Page: namespace and I achieved this by activating that option in my Gadgets. — billinghurst sDrewth 01:00, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Good. I'll do the styling just on these 'Content' pages. The other ones are just text. :) --Diego Grez (talk) 01:06, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Welcome edit

Hi Diego. I responded to a comment at AN, ask around if you have any questions. Cygnis insignis (talk) 19:58, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay! :-D --Diego Grez (talk) 20:00, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I noticed you validating as I going along, I had to race to finish that tale. Hope you enjoyed the story, there are better ones in the same book. Cygnis insignis (talk) 20:07, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah. The book is really good. I'm gonna download the .djvu file and read the tales to my niece (in Spanish, of course) :-P --Diego Grez (talk) 20:10, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The Chiang Mai Declaration edit

You have flagged this article for deletion but there is no discussion. Why have you flagged it?--Longfellow (talk) 11:59, 8 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, sorry, I didn't notice there was a {{sdelete}} for speedy deletions. It was a copyvio. Diego Grez (talk) 14:56, 8 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Chile Ilustrado 1872 edit

Diego, I uploaded the DJVU file for you. It can be found here. We might need to clean up the info for the file. Also, you'll have to create the index for the Spanish Wikisource. Anyways, I wanted to let you know that it is done. --Mattwj2002 (talk) 12:04, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Cool Matt. Thanks for your help! :-) Diego Grez (talk) 17:44, 7 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Author pages edit

Please do not recreate your author page. The community has a standard position that only authors with works in the public domain, or freely licensed, should have author pages at enWS. — billinghurst sDrewth 22:05, 3 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
