Gretchen Frances Hahnen (1902-1986) was an aviator trained by Clarence Duncan Chamberlin (1893-1976). She was the New Jersey governor of the Women's International Aeronautic Association, and a columnist on aviation for the Jersey Journal. She married Eddie August Schneider (1911-1940) in 1934 and in 1936 travelled to Valencia, Spain during the Spanish Civil War to spend Christmas with her husband and the other members of the Yankee Squadron.
