Regarding African style robbery edit
Hi Виктор Пинчук,
The text at African style robbery lacks licensing information and its source is unclear. Where and when was this work published? What was its original language, and who performed the translation into English? Was it professionally published? - I've moved your reply from my talk page to here to keep the discussion in one placeCommons is never the source, although it may host a scan of the source. But judging from the image you link to this is a newspaper article? In what newspaper was it published? Where can I find more information about that publication? In what section of the newspaper was it published? What is the author's role in regard the newspaper (full-time reporter, freelancer, letter to the editor, reader submission, etc.)?Further, what is the relevance of the included image? Who created that book cover? What is its copyright status?Also, is the original of this text in deliberately broken sentences and with incorrect grammar? - Apologies for the detailed questioning. It's not intended to be an "interrogation", but we need to determine whether this text falls within the limits set by several policies; chief among them the copyright and licensing policy, but also our inclusion criteria, annotations, and translations policies. English Wikisource mostly hosts old public domain books, so a modern text, which may or may not have been published under sufficient editorial controls, and with several independently copyrightable pieces (the original, the translation, and the images), that is also a user translation, presents several challenges. We've had quite a bit of trouble of the years with people trying to use Wikisource as a free web host or for self-promotion (neither of which are the purpose of the project, and for which there exist many suitable alternative services), so we've had to institute stricter checks for such things. - The article was published in a socio-political newspaper, the heading is "travel." The author is a freelance correspondent for the newspaper. The illustration shows the victim of the crime referred to in the article. The cover was created by the author of the book. I may have inaccuracies in translation - English is not my native language. You should know that excerpts or fragments of larger works are not generally accepted at Wikisource. Three of the pages you have uploaded are excerpts of larger works. - @Виктор Пинчук: The scan File:Бог един... в 200 лицах.jpg contains four paragraphs that have been blurred out. If those paragraphs are free content, then you should upload a copy of the article that does not have the paragraphs blurred out. But I blurred them and did not post them in Wikisourse (Russian and English versions), because these fragment only indirectly concerns the topic: this is a grunge text added by me at the request of the newspaper editor, because the text of the article was not enough to fill the newspaper page.
