Your question on Help talk:Adding texts edit
If the copy on IA is a new edition, then we need to wait until it has reached public domain status. However, if it's simply a re-print of an edition that is out of copyright, then it's fine to upload the file. If you could give an example of a book in this situation, then we'd be able to advise more precisely. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 22:14, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Beeswaxcandle: For example here on IA https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.260279 a book "A Daughter Of Samurai" published in 1926 (which is <95 years from now), but first original publication was at 1925 (which is >95 years) here https://exhibits.stanford.edu/copyrightrenewals/catalog/R102941 and also it was mentioned as Public Domain here https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/publicdomainday/2021/ So, is that one on IA suitable for Wiki Commons? --Coalesce (talk) 22:32, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- The copy on IA has a copyright notice for 1925 on page 3 of the scan, so yes it is acceptable. It's a pity it's such an awful scan, though. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 23:22, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
Russian text edit
Hi, there is a separate Wikisource for Russian texts at ru.wikisource.org which is where your new work should be uploaded and proofread. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 16:30, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Beeswaxcandle: Do you mean that https://commons.wikimedia.org is only for artifacts in English? Because I can see there a lot of Russian language fiction as well, for example that https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Собрание_сочинений_Александра_Блока._Т._7_(1923).djvu
- No, Commons is a single place for files in all the language domains, but just as there are separate Wikipedias for each language, so there are also separate Wikisources. This site is for English texts. Beeswaxcandle (talk) 16:45, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

- @Beeswaxcandle: Ok, I copied my Index page and it's pages to RU.wikisource.org. Could you please advice how to delete EN one? I supposed I must mark it somehow with sdelete? But in which field of Edit Index Form?
