Is this an excerpt from a document? If it is then it is out of scope in that form. We would only host the parent document, not an excerpt. — billinghurst sDrewth 23:05, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
@Billinghurst: No. The discussion page points to the source. It's a memo from the president to Secretary of State and Defense. If it's desirable to include every word of the document, we can include the usual part of a memo per source, such as addressee. --Happyseeu (talk) 23:23, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Please include the whole document contents otherwise it is out of context. I would encourage you to download https://www.ait.org.tw/wp-content/uploads/sites/269/08171982-Reagan-Memo-DECLASSIFIED.pdf to Commons, and then we can proofread to the document per Help:Proofread. - @Billinghurst: OK, I've put a thumbnail of the Commons file on the discussion page, and added all the words on the document with formatting, except the signatures that I can't recognize (I guess one is WB, but since it's signed next to the name of Schultz, I'm not certain. The other signature is really hard to tell.) I don't know how to invite people to proofread, so if you can help, that will be great. --Happyseeu (talk) 00:48, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- There is some guidance at Help:Adding texts. The very abbreviated version is: upload a scan, make an Index: page for it, proofread (transcribe+format) each individual page in the Page: namespace, and then we use transclusion to combine the pages for presentation. --Xover (talk) 09:35, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
